The sea map shows a plot of records of user-selected vessels of the selected period.
Open sea map
The sea map can be opened for one or more ships via the menu items Tools → Sea map from the following screens:
- the schip overview screen;
- the registration screen;
- the deviations screen;
- the areas screen (under licence);
- all of the status times screens (under licence, exept ship status time);
- the turbo pressure and rpm screen and turbo pressure status check screen (under licence).
By default, the map opens with the full track(s) in view. If a track is already present when you open it, it will be added to the sea map.
Closing the sea map via X clears all tracks.
Map view
The map consists of a land map and a sea map. The land map contains data about the country, such as the roads, places and water in general. The sea map contains additional information about water, such as the shipping routes, ports and, if available, areas.
The land and/or sea map display can be turned on and off under the menu button Charts → Land map/Sea map. If the card in question is switched on, there is a check mark in front of the item.
Registration points
The registration points are visible from zoom level 14 and the labels from zoom level 19. The display of the registration points can be set under 'Show registration points in kmml' in Station settings.
To see exact details of the registration, click on the dot with the left mouse button. A balloon will appear with the vessel name, date time of registration, speed in knots and vessel status.
Right-clicking on a registration point causes the registration to be selected in the registration screen. If the registration screen is not open, it will open automatically.
Areas
User dependent
If areas are available, the visibility per revision can be switched on and off via the menu items Areas → Revision X → move to the relevant area → Toggle all . Switching a selection of a revision on or off can be done via Areas → Revision X → move to the relevant area → Invert selection.
To enable or disable all areas, or a selection of them, in one revision, choose under Areas → Revision X → Toggle all or Invert selection.
To enable or disable all areas, or a selection of them, for all revisions at once, under Areas directly choose Toggle all or Invert selection.
Tracks
The visibility of tracks can be switched on and off per ship via the menu items Tracks → move to the relevant ship → Toggle all. Switching a selection of tracks from the ship on or off can be done via Tracks → move to the relevant ship → Invert selection. Clicking on a displayed period under the ship concerned ensures that only the track in that period is switched on or off.
To turn the tracks, or a selection of them, on or off for all ships at once, under Tracks directly choose Toggle all or Invert selection.
Colours of the track
The colour of the track depends on the ship status of the ship:
| Colour | Ship status |
|---|---|
| gray | Unknown |
| blue | Resting |
| red | Fishing |
| green | Sailing |
| yellow | Transition |
| orange | Possible fishing |
Coordinates
The coordinates are shown at the bottom right according to the WGS84 notation.
