Sms

If a black box does not function properly, the black box sends an sms with the notification in it. These text messages are shown in the sms screen and can be accepted for one or more ships.

The sms history screen contains all sms messages sent through the black boxes of one or more ships over the selected period.

Open sms screen

The sms screen can be opened for one or more ships. To open the screen, click on the relevant ship or ships in the ship overview screen and then:

• the menu items: Info → Sms or
• right click → Sms.

The sms screen shows the following data in list view:

• Ship: the ship code;
• Datetime: the date-time when the sms was sent;
• Sms alarm code: the code of the sms see Meaning alarm codes and text;
• Sms alarm code text: the content of the sms, see Meaning alarm codes and text.

Accept sms

To accept one or more SMS messages, tick the boxes of the relevant lines in the sms screen under the first column:

To accept all sms messages at once, check the box in the column header:

Only when you close the screen with X, the ticked sms messages will be saved and marked as accepted. When an sms is accepted, it will disappear from the sms screen. The sms will still be available in the sms history screen.

Note: an accepted SMS can no longer be undone, only if the screen has not yet been closed.

The sms messages that have not been accepted, will remain available in the sms screen.

The screen can be opened for one or more ships, via:

• the ship overview screen → Info → Sms history or
• the sms screen → Info → Sms history.

You can then enter the date and time of the period for which you want to see the received sms, see select period.

The sms history screen shows the following data in list view:

• Is read: if the sms is accepted, the checkbox is checked;
• Ship: the ship code;
• Datetime: the date-time when the SMS was sent;
• Sms alarm code: the code of the sms see Meaning alarm codes and text;
• Sms alarm code text: the content of the sms, see Meaning alarm codes and text.
• Last updated by: The name of the user who accepted the sms. If the sms has not yet been accepted, it will say iws_usr.
• Last updated on: The date and time the smswas accepted.

Meaning alarm codes and text

The table below lists the alarm codes, associated texts and causes of the text messages that can be sent by a black box.

1	No vessel supply time-out	The vessel supply is longer below 22V than the set delay* of the vessel supply
2	Bad or no gsm connection	The gsm connection is bad/absent, or sending an sms failed after repeated* attempts
3	Cold reset	The system has been reset after the vessel supply and battery power has been lost
4	Warm reset	The system has been reset after the watchdog was triggered, a voltage dip or software reset has occurred
5	Default configuration parameters loaded	The default configuration parameters are loaded into the system after a configuration or SD card failure during configuration
6	New configuration parameters loaded	A new configuration has been uploaded into the system
7	Logging failure	The system could not write the log lines to the SD card
8	No gps position	The system has received gps data without position information
9	Gps receiver failure	The system has not received gps data
10	Gps antenna failure	The gps antenna has a short circuit, a broken wire, is not connected or is broken
11	Failure on analogue input 1	Analogue input 1 has gone too high or too low according to the set* value
12	Failure on analogue input 2	Analogue input 2 has gone too high or too low according to the set* value
13	Failure on analogue input 3	Analogue input 3 has gone too high or too low according to the set* value
14	Failure on analogue input 4	Analogue input 4 has gone too high or too low according to the set* value
15	Failure on analogue input 5	Analogue input 5 has gone too high or too low according to the set* value
16	Failure on analogue input 6	Analogue input 6 has gone too high or too low according to the set* value

19	Power cable disconnected	The power cable is disconnected or broken
20	Enclosure opened	The enclose of the system is open
21	RTC failure	Real time clock (RTC) anomaly detected
22	SD card failure	The system cannot read or write to the SD card
23	RAM memory failure	The system cannot read the settings from the RAM after booting
24	Service message received	A message from the service station has been received by the system and is displayed on the terminal
25	Communication error terminal	The system cannot establish communication with the terminal
26	Failure on namur pulse input 1	Pulse input sensor 1 has a short circuit, a wire break, is not connected or broken
27	Failure on namur pulse input 2	Pulse input sensor 2 has a short circuit, a wire break, is not connected or broken
28	Battery temperature too high	The battery temperature is above 60°C or unavailable
29	Board temperature too high	The board temperature is above 60°C or unavailable
30	Calibration failure	The system cannot read the calibration
31	Battery voltage too low	The battery voltage is below 11.7V or a battery test will be performed after 24 hours when the black box has switched to AC power
32	Moving during standby	The gps position has changed more than 0.1 minute
33	Configurable alarm 1	Configurable via configuration (not yet available)
34	Configurable alarm 2	Configurable via configuration (not yet available)
35	Configurable alarm 3	Configurable via configuration (not yet available)
36	Wake up after standby	The system has booted after being in standby for 5 minutes
37	Software update finished	The system has successfully transferred the new software
